Malbun itself has solid 4G across the resort. You can post photos, check trail maps and message friends from the village. The catch is that 5G is patchy at altitude, so expect 4G speeds rather than the fast 5G you get in Vaduz. That is still plenty for normal phone use.

The weak spots are the narrow, remote valleys and the eastern slopes near Malbun. Steep rock and tree cover block the high frequency bands that carry the fastest data. You may see the signal drop to slower 4G or fade for short stretches on a hike or a back road.

A simple habit fixes most of this. Before you head into the hills, download your offline maps, your trail route and any tickets while you are still in Vaduz or Schaan. Then a brief dead spot on the trail does not matter, because the things you need are already saved on your phone.

Liechtenstein is small and squeezed between Switzerland and Austria. Near Balzers and parts of Schaan, signals from Swiss towers can bleed across the border. Your phone might try to grab a foreign tower instead of a local one.
