MegaEsim

Why is MegaEsim so cheap?

It is the question careful travelers should ask. A price without an explanation deserves suspicion, so here is ours, with real numbers and the dates we collected them.

The short answer

We do not run TV ads. We do not pay influencers to praise us. We do not rent airport billboards. Most travel eSIM brands spend heavily on all three, and that spending has to come from somewhere: it is built into the price of every gigabyte they sell. We put that money back into the price instead, so travelers keep it.

No TV ads. No paid influencers. No airport billboards. That budget goes back into the price, so travelers can spend it on the trip itself.

The part nobody advertises: the networks are mostly the same

Travel eSIM brands, including the famous ones, largely buy wholesale access to the same local carriers. When you land in Spain, the mast serving your phone does not know which brand's logo was on the checkout page. What differs between providers is not the signal, it is the markup, and the marketing budget hiding inside it.

We publish the local host network for every destination on its page, so you can check this claim yourself before paying.

The math, with dates

Prices below were collected from official public checkout pages on 17 August 2026, in US dollars. Ours come from the same live database that runs our checkout.

What you are buyingElsewhereAt MegaEsim
10GB, 30 days, Spain or Germany or Italy$23.00 to $35.99 (regional bundles)$5.99 (single country plan)
7 days of unlimited style data, Europe$27.00$12.99
A day of data on your home carrier's roaming pass$12.00 per dayfrom $1.29 per day

Competitor prices move often, one large brand raised its Europe unlimited prices 29 percent during a single week in August 2026. We track what mobile data really costs travelers across 189 countries in our eSIM Price Index, updated from our own live retail prices.

Where the savings actually come from

What we refuse to cut

What we honestly do not offer

Fairness cuts both ways, so here is the other side. Our plans are data only, they do not include a phone number, so if you need a local number for deliveries or bookings, a local SIM does something we do not. And you will not find us in glossy campaigns or airport lounges, which some travelers read as reassurance. We understand that. We would just rather be the reason your trip cost less.

Still skeptical? Good.

Skepticism is the right instinct online. Check the network named on any destination page against the local carrier's own coverage map. Compare our checkout price against the number on the page, they always match. Read our reviews from verified buyers. Or spend $1.29 on a one day plan and test us for the price of a coffee.
