Buy and install the eSIM a day or two before you leave. You need WiFi to install it, so doing this at home is easier than fighting for a signal at Lynden Pindling International Airport. When the plane touches down at Nassau or at Grand Bahama International in Freeport, take your phone off airplane mode. Keep an eye on how much data is left in your phone settings. If you are running low near the end, you can buy another plan and install it the same way. The cheapest option starts at just $8.64 for 1 GB over 1 day, which is handy for a final stretch when you only need maps and messages.

There is nothing to return and no SIM to swap back. When your plan runs out or you fly home, just switch the eSIM line off in your settings and put your home line back to handling data. The eSIM profile can stay saved on your phone in case you come back.

For the airport and the flight home, the free WiFi at the terminal covers your last messages and boarding passes, so you do not need to burn through plan data while you wait. Compared with paying your home carrier's roaming rates or buying a physical BTC SIM in a Nassau shop, this eSIM is cheaper and far quicker, since you set it all up before you ever left home.
