01 Can I buy a SIM card in Papua New Guinea?

You can, and Digicel sells prepaid SIMs at Port Moresby airport and in town. The catch is the registration. PNG requires SIM cards to be registered to an identity document, so you queue, hand over your passport, wait for the paperwork, and only then get online.

A travel eSIM skips that. You install it at home, land at Jacksons airport with data already working, and can order a car or message your hotel before you have cleared the terminal. 03 Which network will my phone use in Papua New Guinea?

The Highlands beyond the main settlements, the Sepik river region, the Kokoda Track and most of the smaller islands have little or no mobile coverage on any network. This is not a limitation of eSIM, it is the state of the country's mobile infrastructure, and any provider claiming full national coverage here is not being straight with you.
