Your eSIM connects to Orange, the largest mobile network in Ivory Coast. There are three main carriers in the country. Orange, MTN, and Moov. Of the three, Orange is the largest.

This matters for travelers. A plan that works great in Abidjan but dies on the road to Yamoussoukro is not much use. Orange gives you the steadiest signal across both city and countryside, which is why MegaEsim uses it for this plan.

The same is true in the other big cities. Yamoussoukro, the political capital with its huge basilica, has good 4G. So do Bouaké in the center and San Pédro on the coast. In these places you can expect download speeds that handle streaming and uploads without much waiting.

Ivory Coast runs on 4G. There is no real 5G network in the country yet, so do not expect 5G speeds no matter what plan you buy.

In practice 4G here is good enough for everything most travelers do. You can make WhatsApp video calls, follow Google Maps, post photos, and stream music. During busy evening hours in crowded parts of Abidjan you may notice things slow down a little. That is normal and it clears up once the network is less loaded.

Once you head into rural areas the signal thins out. The far west near Taï National Park, the deep forest zones, and small villages off the main highways can have patchy or no service. This is true of every network in the country, not just Orange, but Orange still gives you the best odds out there.

On the long highways between cities you will mostly stay connected, with short dead spots in the gaps between towns. If you are driving north toward Korhogo or into the interior, download your maps for offline use before you leave the city. That one step saves a lot of frustration.

The plan gives you 3 GB for 15 days at $19.03. For a short trip that is a comfortable amount if you use wifi at your hotel for the heavy stuff like video and large downloads.

Here is a rough idea. Maps and messaging use very little. A day of normal use with some browsing, chats, and a few photos sits around 150 to 250 MB. So 3 GB covers roughly two weeks of light to moderate use. If you plan to stream video on mobile data every day or work fully online, lean on hotel wifi for the big files so your 3 GB lasts the full 15 days.
