Mobile internet in Jamaica: the network detail that matters
Jamaica has two networks, and they are not equal. Flow is quick in Kingston, Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios, and fades on mountain roads and in the rural interior. Digicel has the best coverage across the whole island, including the hills, the south coast and the roads in between.

What about US carrier roaming?
Jamaica is on all the US day pass lists: Verizon TravelPass at $12 a day, AT&T at $12 a day, T-Mobile at $5 a day for full speed. A 10 day trip on Verizon is $120. That is more than a good local unlimited month, a travel eSIM and a round of Red Stripes combined. Roaming is for people who forgot to plan, and now you have not.

One practical tip either way: resort wifi in Jamaica is fine in lobbies and patchy in rooms and on beaches. Do not build your trip around it.
